Networks Unlimited, a value-added distributor of leading-edge and innovative security, networking, hyperconvergence and storage solutions, hosted its inaugural four-ball golf day on 18 March at the Centurion Country Club in aid of Literacy for Life.
South Africa’s top IT companies supported the day, which is set to become an annual event.
Literacy for Life, is a provider of educational writing and reading aids to disadvantaged schools in the form of products called WriteRight – a range of brightly coloured, quality wooden educational products that support children between the ages of three and 12 to develop handwriting skills, improve literacy and numeracy, and overcome barriers to learning.
“We chose to support Literacy for Life as we believe in their viewpoint that even in this technology age, handwriting remains the primary tool of communication and knowledge assessment,” says Anton Jacobsz, MD of Networks Unlimited.
“Four-ball sponsorships, donations, an auction and fun activities on the day managed to raise more than R100 000 for Literacy for Life,” adds Jacobsz.
The golf day auction included items such as a getaway for 12 people to Kieuw Game Farm, a Red Bull plane flip with Nigel Hopkins, and a 10-day holiday in San Lameer.
“A big thank you to all our sponsors, especially Unlimited Events for the immaculate décor at the awards dinner as well as for leading the auction, and heads and tails game,” adds Jacobsz.
